Thanksgiving Love

The year was 2012. Thanksgiving Sunday.
The night before I quietly asked my mother in law if I could have her blessing to ask Amanda to marry me.
I took a hot knife and split open a kinder surprise (one of Amanda’s favourites). I put the ring in and sealed it back up.
The next day was planned to go to Downey’s Farm (before it was cool). In the corn maze I told her I picked up a kinder surprise at the gas station and I sweat as she picked away at the chocolate shell slowing my pace to stay a couple feet behind ready for her to open the toy. I was on a knee and asked if she wouldn’t mind marrying me. Thanks Rocky for the line.
