Why Do I Wear Plaid Everyday?

I started to wear plaid everyday around the age 30. I was just moved from my dream job as a Child and Youth Care Practitioner (CYCP) in a high school to 3 different elementary schools in two different cities. I loved the high school atmosphere. I wore khakis and a dress shirt and the occasional tie. As I started at the elementary schools the younger kids found it hard to recognize Mr. Graham. Every time we met I would have to remind them who I was.

I thought about one of my heroes, my Uncle Jack and when I thought about him I always remember him wearing plaid and denim. It makes me feel somehow connected to him because he passed when I was about 15. He taught me to tie a tie and I've taught many young men because of it. The young kids I work with can also remember me easier and build a relationship quickly if they feel comfortable. I rarely change my look for this reason.
